Kalamazoo, MI

Stuart residents know the corner at the end of Kalamazoo Avenue is a curve that must be handled with care, but some drivers learn the hard way. We've seen what happens when a truck tips over on that corner. Your Stuart Association has been working on this problem, which is complicated by the fact that Kalamazoo Avenue is State Highway M-43. We’ve been having conversations with MDOT about this corner and they want to know if Stuart residents would like to try an experiment.
MDOT can install temporary rumble strips - a road safety feature that alerts inattentive drivers to potential danger by causing a tactile vibration and audible rumbling, transmitted through the wheels into the car body. While these strips could alert a distracted driver, they could also become a noisy nuisance for neighbors. Since we simply don’t know how well (or how poorly!) the rumble strips would work, MDOT is willing to install them “temporarily” knowing that the neighborhood may want them gone in a month. The Stuart Board wants your feedback! Are you willing to experiment? You can call the office at 344-7432 and leave a message, email director@stuartarea.org, or vote in the poll. Feedback is wanted by September 15. Thank you!
Are you looking for tenants? The Stuart Neighborhood website can help. Send the Director an email or simply phone the office at 269-344-7432 with the details. We'll post your information on our RENTALS page. Almost 600 visitors a month come to the Stuart website. Some of them are looking for a home and one of them may be the family or person you're waiting for! These are the homes
On the night of Saturday, June 5, 2010, the City of Kalamazoo was smacked with a major storm. How did mild-mannered Arcadia Creek handle the volumes of rainwater dumped on us? Not bad at all.
